Epic Flash Star Driver

The driver comes with an additional loft to bring the total number to three. Left-hand players only get 10.5-degree version while the right-handed players will get the 12.0 and 13.5 degrees.

Epic Flash Star is about 50 grams lighter than the Epic Flash and about 20 grams lighter than the Epic Star drivers.

The dropped weight is achieved with a lighter shaft and grip as well as using a fixed hosel instead of an adjustable one. The weight of the driver’s head remains the same. This means the mass properties of the clubhead is not altered.

Epic Flash Star Fairway Wood and Hybrid

The Epic Flash fairway woods and hybrid also carries the Star versions as the driver. The weight is also reduced due to the fixed hosel. It comes in a 40-gram ATTAS Speed shaft and Golf Pride JL00 ORJ200 grip.

It features a Callaway’s signature Face Cup and Jailbreaks technology for incredible ball speed. The T2C carbon crown redistributes more weight at the low/back of the clubhead for increased launch and forgiveness.

The hybrid features the Jailbreak Technology, steel face, a thin 455 carpenter and MIM’d tungsten weight for a higher launch and perimeter weighting.

Epic Flash Star Irons

The Epic Forged Star irons come with stronger lofts and have specific women’s/HL with lofts made for players with slow swing speeds.

The standard set of irons comes in 5-iron (22-degree) to SW (55-degree). The women’s/HL come in a set of 6-iron (26-degree) to AW (48-degree). The women’s/ High Launch set also have a 54-degree.

The Epic Forged Star comes in what Callaway calls an Infinite Black finish which they claimed has undergone a thorough baking process to ensure it lasts longer.

Price

The prices of the clubs show some significant difference, but the range is moderate enough for a golfer who understands the standard price of a good club.

  • Driver ($699.99)
  • Fairway woods ($399.99 each)
  • Hybrids ($325 each)
  • Forged irons ($325 per club)

Final Thoughts

The Epic Flash Star club is, no doubt a significance addition from Callaway. The reduced weight is of great benefit for any golfer with a slow swing who struggles to lift the ball off air. The features and the technology employed in this equipment is enough of what a senior golfer should ask for.
