Callaway Steelhead XR Iron Features
Face Cup Technology
The Steelhead irons come with the next-gen 360 Face Cup technology for increased ball speed and increased distance. The technology also increases COR by 2.4%.
Steel-Infused Polyurethane Layer
This is positioned right behind the lower portion of the face which eliminated vibration for an incredible feel. The presence of steel into the urethane adds weight to lower the CG of the head for a higher launch and an increased speed.

Hollow Bore-Thru Hosel Design
This feature ensures that a significant amount of weight is saved placing the head more strategically for more forgiveness and easier launch.
The Center of Gravity
The progressive CG positioning enables an easy launch for long irons and great control for middle irons. It is suitable for lower launch and higher spin for shorter irons.
Performance Review
Distance and Control
When it comes to performance, the Callaway Steelhead XR iron doesn’t disappoint either. Their design allows for an easier and higher launch for long irons and lower launch and high-spin for shorter ones.
You have total control over the distance since you can choose the higher flight with a softer landing.
The predictable and repeatable distance helps you improve your performance with every shot. Even on mis-hits, you still get a minimal loss on ball speed.

Forgiveness
The Steelhead XR irons are by far one of the most forgiving irons you’ll hit.
The hollow bore hosel design saves significant weight in strategic places to ensure an easier launch and more forgiveness.
The 360 Face Cup comes with a larger head for a more forgiving area making it the most suitable iron for high handicappers.

Playability
If you’re a high handicapper, you will find this as the easiest irons to play. Slower swingers can easily use them due to their friendly nature and easy to get out of trouble lies.
Look
The Steelhead XR comes with a thick topline and the sole with a long head from heel to toe.
The cavity badge design offers a close resemblance to the Callaway look with minimum flashy bright colors.
The logo on the badge has an attractive holographic sheen.
Sound and feel
The sound and feel or the iron is almost the same hence giving you minimum feedback. This is because the face is hollow with the steel-infused polyurethane layer dampening the vibration.
You will get crisp and explosive center strikes. Severe mis-hits sound hollow and feel different giving you feedback you need to make adjustments.
