Driving Range Practice Plan: Golf Routine #7

Welcome to another golf practice plan brought to you by GolfPracticeGuides.com. We strive to build all around skilled golfers by giving you practices that require focus and quality repetition.

Today’s driving range practice plan works on your fairways in regulation and greens in regulation skills. You’ll need to head to the driving range with about 60 balls, which is typically a medium sized bucket of golf balls at most courses.

Find a quiet spot on the driving range to set up for this practice sessions and begin the following drill below!

Driving Range Practice Plan

Fairways in Regulation

Today’s Drills to Improve FIR %: Course Simulation

  • Hit 7 balls with Driver. Record Fairways Hit.
  • Hit 7 balls with Fairway Wood. Record Fairways Hit.
  • Hit 7 balls with Driver. Record Fairways Hit.
  • Hit 7 balls with Fairway Wood. Record Fairways Hit.

Instructions: Pick a target on the driving range to aim at and set up alignment sticks to help you set up each shot at the target. Then create a 30 yard wide fairway zone in your head, 15 yards on each side of your target, to hit to as if you’re on the course trying to hit fairways. Record how many you got within this imaginative fairway. Beat this each practice day that you come back (Day 2 and Day 3).

Greens in Regulation

Today’s Drills to Improve GIR %:

  • Hit 10 balls to a 100 yard target. Record GIR’s Hit.
  • Hit 10 balls to a 150 yard target. Record GIR’s Hit.
  • Hit 10 balls to a 125 yard target. Record GIR’s Hit.

Instructions: Align yourself to these 3 different targets with alignment sticks or clubs on the ground. Imagine a green if your driving range only has posts out on the range you hit to. Record how many shots would have hit a green if it were one on the course. Try to beat this number each day you come back for Day 2 and Day 3.
